Exemptions on the legislation of the documents in Turkey

The fact that Turkey is a party of Apostille Convention, it has ratified several bilateral agreements on legal assistance  in civil and commercial matters. In these bilateral agreements, it is stated that documents drawn up, issued or certified and officially sealed in one of the Contracting Parties’ territory has the same conclusive force in the territory of other contracting party.  For instance, Article 14 of Agreement between Turkey and Albania in Civil,Commercial and Criminal matters indicates that documents drawn up, issued or certified and officially sealed in one of the Contracting Parties’ territory and their authenticated copies shall not be subjected to legislation in the territory of the other Contracting Party.  There are similar provisions in Legal Assistance Agreements between Turkey and more than 20 states. Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia Herzogevina, People’s Republic of China, Georgia, Croatia, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhistan, Kuwait, Lithuania, Hungary, Mongolia, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Syria, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Oman are among these countries.
